Chelsea interested in Dortmund's Jamie Gittens

Chelsea are monitoring Borussia Dortmund's promising winger Jamie Gittens as a potential summer transfer target, according to The Athletic's News David Ornstein. 

The 20-year-old talent is among several wide players on Chelsea's radar despite experiencing a significant dip in form recently.

Gittens began the season impressively but has since struggled to maintain his impact, going 16 matches across all competitions without registering a goal or assist. Nevertheless, Chelsea's recruitment team reportedly sees considerable long-term potential in the young Englishman, believing he could develop into an elite-level winger under the right guidance.

The Blues' interest comes amid uncertainty surrounding current winger Mykhaylo Mudryk, who faces a potential suspension after testing positive for a banned substance. This situation has accelerated Chelsea's search for reinforcements in wide attacking areas.

Gittens joined Dortmund's youth setup in 2020 and has gradually worked his way into the first team. His pace, technical ability, and direct running style align with Chelsea's preference for dynamic wide players who can beat defenders in one-on-one situations.
