The victory sets up a historic showdown against German side SC Freiburg in Istanbul on May 20 at Beşiktaş Park.  

Freiburg secured their maiden European final berth by edging Braga 4-3 on aggregate, fueled by a Lukas Kübler brace in a decisive 3-1 second-leg win.  

Julian Schuster’s unheralded side will face an uphill battle against an Villa outfit that remains unbeaten on Turkish soil this season.

Emery, widely dubbed "Mr. Europa League," prepares for his sixth final in this competition, having already lifted the trophy four times with Sevilla and Villarreal.  

The Spaniard has revitalized the Birmingham club since his 2022 arrival, transforming them from relegation candidates into Champions League hopefuls.  

Villa Park was at its jubilant best for the semi-final, with Prince William notably celebrating among the fans as the club eyes its first major trophy since 1996.  

For the Villa faithful, the occasion evokes memories of Peter Withe’s 1982 European Cup heroics, as they bid to reclaim their place among the continent's elite.
